L'initiative a la teneur suivante:
La constitution fédérale est complétée comme il suit:
Art. 37bis, 3e al. (nouveau)

- La vitesse maximale autorisée des voitures automobiles légères et des motocycles est fixée en général à 100km/h sur les routes hors des localités, à 130 km/h sur les autoroutes.
- Pour accroître la sécurité, des vitesses maximales inférieures peuvent être fixées sur des tronçons particulièrement dangereux. Des vitesses maximales supérieures peuvent être autorisées sur des tronçons bien aménagés.
